How do Ascott chambers work. full story…

Need to check the details of a corrosion test standard. Then here's a full list of them with cross references to Ascott chambers full list …

Optional testing facilities

All Ascott cyclic corrosion chambers are supplied comprehensively equipped and are ready to run. The following factory-fitted optional testing facilities are offered to enhance a standard chamber for specific tests. Full details of these facilities are provided in the product datasheet which may be downloaded.

Refrigeration ACC29

Free-standing air temperature conditioning unit (ATCU), capable of refrigerating from ambient to -20°C/-4°F (lower temperatures can be quoted on request). Click to see how it works.

Salt spray (vertically down) ACC30

Comprises a high level multiple nozzle salt spray rig which spray directly down onto the samples. Required for some automotive standards, such as; GM9540P, SAEJ2334, and Volvo STD 1027- exposure type A. Click to see how it works.

Water fog humidity ACC32

Some tests that recommend high humidity conditions (95-100% RH) are created by spraying water as a fog. This option provides a second 100 Ltr/26 US Gal water reservoir and additional chamber mounted spray atomiser(s), etc. Click to see how it works.

Liquid immersion ACC34

Separate holding tank (usually containing salt water) which can be heated to a user adjustable temperature up to +50°C/+122°F. Under programmed control the liquid is automatically pumped to/from the holding tank to immerse the test sample. Click to see how it works.

Horizontal mist spray ACC44

For compliance with the ‘horizontal mist spray’ test. Special salt spray atomiser(s) are positioned horizontally to enable programmed horizontal spraying, Salt solution flow rates adjustable up to 24ml/min and air flow adjustable up to 7m/sec directly at the test samples, usually located 300mm/11.8" from the end of each atomiser. The number of atomisers supplied is chamber dependent. Click to see how it works.

Wall wash ACC42

High level water spray rig to automatically wash the walls with water for a user adjustable number of minutes, at programmable points within a corrosion test cycle. This test is required for some automotive standards such as Renault D17 2028. This option requires the chamber to be connected to a pressurized water supply of a quality and temperature suitable for washing the chamber walls. Click to see how it works.

SO2 Gas Dosing ACC46

Chamber mounted dispersion tube, through which SO2 gas can be introduced, at a user determined rate, monitored by a flow meter. The gas can be switched on and off automatically, at user programmable times. Designed to meet the requirements of ASTM G85 annex 4, and similar tests. Note: the provision of the SO2 gas cylinder and connector are the user's responsibility and are not included as part of this option. Click to see how it works.

Multi-solution salt spray ACC86

Enables users to create salt spray climates from up to three different salt solutions (chamber dependent). These can be individually programmed by the user to occur as required, within any test program. Additional salt solution reservoirs, atomisers etc, are included.
